Salt Lake City, UT (April 29, 2026) – A devastating late night crash along Interstate 80 West claimed two lives and led to a full closure of the roadway near 7200 West, just west of the Salt Lake City International Airport. The collision occurred at approximately 10:23 p.m. on April 27 and involved multiple passenger vehicles as well as a semi truck.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol , troopers arrived to find two vehicles blocking the westbound lanes of the Interstate Highway, with two additional vehicles in a nearby ditch. One of those vehicles had overturned. The semi truck involved was located a short distance from the main crash site. Two individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene, including 20 year old Conner Franco of Tooele. A 17 year old male also lost his life. Several other people were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
