Bensalem Township, PA (June 11, 2025) – A Friday morning crash involving a box truck and a compact vehicle resulted in two people being hospitalized after the smaller vehicle was forced into a township building, according to local authorities.
According to reports, Bensalem Police were dispatched at approximately 10:04 a.m. on June 6 to the intersection of Bristol Pike and Station Avenue. Officers arrived to find a Kia Soul had slammed into a structure located at 1927 Bristol Pike.
An investigation revealed that the Kia Soul, driven by 64-year-old Joseph Johnston of Croydon, was waiting at a red light when it was rear-ended by a large yellow box truck. The impact forced the Kia across opposing traffic, through a parking lot, and into the building.
Johnston and his passenger were taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. The truck’s driver, identified as Ely George, 58, of Lakewood, New Jersey, was uninjured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Bensalem Police.
