Cass County, ND (June 13, 2025) – A devastating crash involving a cement truck and a semi-truck claimed one life and injured another Wednesday evening at a rural intersection in Cass County.
According to reports, the collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on June 11 at the intersection of Highway 18 and Cass County Road 26. Authorities with the North Dakota Highway Patrol say a westbound cement truck failed to stop at the intersection and was struck by a semi hauling potatoes.
The driver of the cement truck, 34-year-old Eric Comer, Jr. of Ft. Myers, Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver, identified as 78-year-old Lyle Fuglestad from Minto, North Dakota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for care.
Officials confirmed that road and weather conditions were good at the time of the crash. Multiple emergency services responded to assist with the incident.
