Martin County, FL (September 29, 2026) – A driver died early Monday morning after a Honda Civic crashed into the rear of a box truck and caught fire on Interstate 95 in Martin County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal collision occurred on northbound Interstate 95 near Indiantown Road on September 28. Troopers said a 2027 Hino box truck was traveling north in the outside lane while a 2020 Honda Civic was traveling north in the inside lane.
The Honda approached the truck before its front end collided with the rear of the box truck, according to investigators. Following the impact, the Honda became fully engulfed in flames.
The Honda driver died as a result of the crash. Authorities had not released the driver’s identity in the initial report.
The collision shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 while emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene. The highway later reopened to traffic.
