Baton Rouge, LA (September 29, 2026) – A nine-vehicle crash on North Foster Drive left 19-year-old Terrance Ruffin dead and eight other people injured Sunday.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the collision occurred around 11:50 a.m. on September 27 near North Foster Drive and Prescott Road. Investigators said a 2023 Kia Sorento traveling north in the left lane struck the rear driver’s side of a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu traveling in the right lane.
The impact sent both vehicles across the roadway into the southbound lanes. Police said the Kia then collided with a 2004 Mazda Tribute, causing both vehicles to roll over. The 2024 Chevrolet Malibu was subsequently struck on its passenger side by a 2017 Malibu.
Ruffin, who was driving the 2024 Chevrolet Malibu, died at the scene.
Emergency medical personnel transported eight other people to area hospitals. Police said one of those injured was in critical condition.
