Manchester, NH (June 14, 2025) – A devastating crash involving pedestrians on Belmont Street left two young children with life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon in Manchester.
According to reports, the incident began when a vehicle struck two girls as they crossed the street with their father around Belmont Street. One of the children was riding a bicycle, while the other, described as a baby, was in a stroller. Witnesses stated the car struck the older girl with such force that she was thrown over the vehicle, and the stroller was dragged down the block with the baby still inside.
Authorities arrested 23-year-old Justin LaClair of Manchester, who allegedly fled the scene after crashing into another car and a telephone pole nearby. Police later found him attempting to walk away and charged him with aggravated DWI, reckless conduct, and conduct after an accident.
Five people in total were injured. An off-duty firefighter who was nearby immediately rendered critical aid to the children.
