Colfax, CA (June 22, 2025) – A head-on collision involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle claimed the lives of two individuals Friday night along Interstate 80 eastbound near Colfax.
According to reports, the deadly crash occurred June 21 near Canyon Way. Emergency crews responded to the scene and confirmed that two people died as a result of the collision. The identities of the deceased have not yet been made public.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 were closed as authorities conducted a crash investigation and worked to clear debris from the roadway. Traffic was diverted off the highway by the California Highway Patrol. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies also assisted with the response.
