According to reports, the tragic incident unfolded June 20 near the 200 block of West Copans Road when 16-year-old Jayden Vico was driving a Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 with four passengers—Richard Grable III, Ryan Bradley, Tomas Brown, and Aiden Finkel, all age 17. An 82-year-old man driving a Toyota Sienna reportedly turned left in front of them, causing a violent collision.

The Mercedes flipped onto its roof, slid across the roadway, and struck a Lexus RX 350 and a Toyota RAV4. First responders from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue performed life-saving efforts at the scene. Vico was pronounced dead at the hospital, while Grable passed away two days later due to severe brain trauma.

Several of the Mercedes occupants and those in the Lexus were hospitalized. The individuals in the two Toyota vehicles remained on scene and were not reported injured.
