Chesapeake, VA (July 9, 2025) — A tragic incident unfolded Tuesday afternoon when a vehicle struck two pedestrians at a busy BP gas station along South Military Highway in Chesapeake. The Chesapeake Police Department was called to the scene at 2155 South Military Highway at around 1 p.m. on July 8, 2025, following reports of the serious accident.
According to reports, initial investigations revealed that a vehicle traveling toward the Gilmerton Bridge veered off the roadway and entered the gas station parking lot, where it struck two men. Both pedestrians were immediately transported to an area hospital. Sadly, one of the victims died from his injuries after arrival. The second man is being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The adult female driver of the vehicle was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
