According to reports, the crash occurred on July 11 at about 12:13 p.m. in the area of Warren Road and Morton Taylor Road. Police say a 66-year-old woman from Canton Township was driving a white Ford Edge southbound on Morton Taylor Road when she collided with a black Ford Explorer.
The 67-year-old man from Westland driving the Explorer was carrying multiple passengers at the time. The force of the initial impact pushed the Explorer into a blue Toyota Rav 4 waiting at the intersection. The Rav 4, driven by a 30-year-old man from Plymouth, had been stopped in the eastbound lane of Warren Road waiting to turn south onto Morton Taylor Road.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, transporting occupants from both the Ford Edge and the Ford Explorer to local hospitals for further care. The extent of their injuries has not yet been made public. Police confirmed that alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the collision, and the investigation remains ongoing to determine how the crash unfolded.
