According to reports, the multi-vehicle collision occurred around 1:00 p.m. on July 22 on the southbound side of Interstate 5 near Exit 105 and Henderson Boulevard Southeast. The impact forced the closure of all but one lane of traffic, backing up vehicles as far north as Marvin Road in Lacey.
Washington State Patrol Trooper John Dattilo confirmed that the tanker involved did not leak any material, and no hazardous materials threat was present at the scene. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, and authorities made no arrests.
