Walnut Creek, CA (August 14, 2025) – A 16-year-old girl was killed and four others were hospitalized following a devastating head-on collision Saturday afternoon in Walnut Creek.
According to reports, the deadly crash occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. on August 10 along Ygnacio Valley Road, just east of Oak Grove Road. The Walnut Creek Police Department confirmed that 16-year-old Alina Safi was driving one of the vehicles involved in the two-car head-on collision.
Safi was pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people suffered injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment. One of the injured victims, a minor under 18 years old, was airlifted to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland due to the severity of their injuries.
A GoFundMe campaign has since been created by Safi’s family to help with expenses following the tragic loss. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
