Kaufman County, TX (August 1, 2026) – Three people, including a woman and her two young daughters, lost their lives in a fiery collision involving a disabled passenger vehicle and a semi truck Sunday night near Terrell in Kaufman County. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on July 29 along U.S. Highway 80 near Windmill Farms Boulevard.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, authorities reported that a disabled 2013 Hyundai had stopped in the right lane of U.S. Highway 80 when it was struck from behind by a semi truck. The impact forced the Hyundai off the roadway, where it overturned and caught fire in a dry creek bed.
First responders located 38 year old Va’Necia Williams and her daughters, 14 year old Sa’Niah Davis and 9 year old A’veonia Davis, unresponsive inside the vehicle. All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi truck was not injured and was able to exit the vehicle safely. Investigators have not released additional details regarding the collision as the investigation remains ongoing.
