Apple Valley, CA (Aug. 13, 2025) – A man and woman were arrested Monday night after allegedly using a pickup truck to run over a man multiple times before pepper spraying him, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
According to reports, deputies responded around 11:23 p.m. on August 11 to the 20000 block of Tussing Ranch Road for an assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators say suspects David Schaar, 36, and Jacquline Chapman, 38, both Apple Valley residents, chased the victim in their truck while he was walking near their home.
The pair allegedly struck the man several times, pinning him under a tire, before exiting the vehicle and pepper spraying him. The victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Schaar and Chapman were taken into custody and booked into the High Desert Detention Center.
