The incident occurred just before 1 p.m. at the intersection of Clay Street and Sexton Road. Authorities report that the driver of an SUV was traveling south on Sexton Road and stopped at a stop sign before proceeding into the intersection. A westbound Jeep, driven by a 16-year-old, collided with the SUV.

The 4-year-old girl, who was a backseat passenger in the SUV, was transported to a local hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries. Neither driver was hurt in the crash.
