Antioch, CA (August 6, 2025) — A 13-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle through a major intersection in Antioch on Monday evening.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 6:46 p.m. on August 5 at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Muirwood Way. Officers with the Antioch Police Department were nearby and witnessed the crash firsthand. Authorities say a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling westbound on Lone Tree Way when it struck the bicyclist, who was crossing the intersection heading north.
Responding officers immediately rendered aid to the teen, who was found unresponsive at the scene. He was later airlifted to a regional hospital in critical but stable condition with severe injuries.
The 24-year-old driver of the Nissan remained on the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. Preliminary findings suggest that neither speed nor impairment were factors in the collision. The Antioch Police Department’s traffic unit is continuing its investigation.
