Antioch, CA (August 7, 2025) — A 13-year-old boy was critically injured after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle in Antioch on Monday evening.

According to reports, the crash occurred around 6:46 p.m. on August 5, 2025, at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Muirwood Way. Antioch Police officers, who were already in the area, witnessed the collision firsthand as a westbound Nissan Pathfinder struck the boy while he was crossing Lone Tree Way heading north.

Officers immediately rendered aid to the teen, who was found unresponsive on the roadway. He was quickly transported by helicopter to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition with major injuries.

The 24-year-old driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Police stated that, based on preliminary findings, neither speed nor drug or alcohol impairment appeared to be contributing factors.

The Antioch Police Department’s traffic unit is continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
