Madera County, CA (September 15, 2025) – A tragic multi-fatality crash in rural Madera County claimed the lives of three minors and left multiple others injured following a collision between a van and a big rig Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the devastating crash occurred at approximately 6 p.m. on September 14, 2025, at the intersection of Road 24 and Avenue 7, just west of Ripperdan. Investigators say a van carrying a family of five failed to stop at a posted stop sign and was broadsided by a westbound big rig hauling two trailers.
The collision caused the big rig to veer off the roadway and crash into a canal, spilling diesel fuel into the waterway.
