Cleveland, OH (June 18, 2025) – A Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) Police Officer was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash just after midnight Monday at a busy intersection in Cleveland.

According to reports, the 24-year-old officer was driving a marked police cruiser westbound on Woodland Avenue with emergency lights activated when a Nissan minivan traveling north on East 55th Street entered the intersection and collided with the cruiser.

The force of the initial impact led to a secondary collision involving two other vehicles that were stopped at the southbound light on East 55th Street. In total, four people were hurt, including the officer, and all were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The conditions of the victims have not yet been disclosed.

Officials from CMHA confirmed that the crash remains under active investigation.
