Manchester, NJ (July 7, 2025) — Two Brick Township residents suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle collision left their SUV overturned on a front lawn in Manchester Sunday night.
According to reports, the crash occurred around 8:38 p.m. on July 6 when 23-year-old Briana Rodriguez was driving a blue 2021 Jeep Cherokee south on Burnside Street with 21-year-old Anthony Fernandez as a passenger. Manchester Police Captain Albert Vega said Rodriguez failed to stop at the intersection with Broadway Boulevard and drove into the path of a gray 2015 Toyota Camry driven by 38-year-old Jun-Jun Zheng of Toms River.
The impact caused the Jeep Cherokee to flip and land on its passenger side on a nearby front lawn. Both Rodriguez and Fernandez had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency responders and were airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with serious injuries. They were later listed in stable condition. Zheng was not injured in the crash.
Firefighters from Ridgeway and Manchester Volunteer fire companies, local paramedics, Toms River EMS, and a LifeFlight helicopter assisted at the scene. Manchester Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
