Trenton, NJ (July 7, 2025) — A tragic two-vehicle collision in Trenton claimed the life of a Hamilton woman when her vehicle overturned and caught fire outside a local church early Saturday morning.
According to reports, Trenton Police responded to the scene around 12:29 a.m. on July 5 after receiving calls about a fiery crash on the lawn of Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Church. Officers arrived to find a silver Toyota Tacoma engulfed in flames and a heavily damaged black BMW resting nearby on the church property.
Investigators say the crash occurred when the Tacoma, driven by a 51-year-old Hamilton man, attempted to make a left turn onto Lalor Street from the westbound side of Broad Street and collided with the BMW driven by a 22-year-old Trenton man. The impact caused the Tacoma to overturn, ejecting the 51-year-old Hamilton woman passenger before the vehicle erupted in flames. She was rushed to Capitol Medical Center but sadly died from her injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were also hospitalized with injuries.
The incident remains under investigation as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to this devastating crash.
