Arvin, CA (August 21, 2025) – One man was killed and three others were hospitalized following a head-on crash early Wednesday morning on East Bear Mountain Boulevard near Adobe Road in the Arvin area of Kern County.
According to reports, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. on August 20, when California Highway Patrol officers were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving a 2005 Toyota Sienna and a 2017 Toyota Corolla.
Authorities say a 76-year-old man driving the Sienna was heading west on East Bear Mountain Boulevard when he veered into the eastbound lane for unknown reasons and struck the Corolla head-on. The impact happened fully within the eastbound lane.
The driver of the Corolla, identified as 28-year-old Christian Jesus Juarez of Arvin, died at the scene. Two passengers in his vehicle suffered serious injuries and were transported to Kern Medical. The Sienna’s driver also sustained moderate injuries and was hospitalized.
CHP reported that drugs or alcohol are not believed to have contributed to the collision.
