St. Petersburg, FL (December 22, 2025) – A Clearwater woman was killed, and two men were injured Saturday night when a Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) bus ran a red light and collided with a Nissan Armada, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred December 21 at the intersection of Roosevelt Boulevard and Lake Carillon Drive. A 38-year-old man from Pinellas Park was operating a westbound PSTA bus when he attempted a left turn at the intersection—despite having a red light.
The bus turned directly into the path of an eastbound Nissan Armada. A 57-year-old Clearwater man was driving the SUV, accompanied by a 57-year-old Clearwater woman as his passenger. The collision caused serious damage to both vehicles and resulted in the woman being transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The bus driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and injured, as was the driver of the Nissan. Both were hospitalized.
