Eureka, CA (September 18, 2026) – A Caltrans construction worker suffered major injuries after being struck by a sport utility vehicle in a highway construction zone late Wednesday night in Eureka. The accident occurred at approximately 11:24 p.m. on September 17 along Highway 101 near Sunset Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol , preliminary investigators determined that a black 2016 GMC Yukon, driven by 26-year-old Selah Town of Carlotta, was traveling northbound in the left lane before drifting into the right lane.
