Pima County, AZ (October 22, 2025) – A crash involving a sheriff’s department vehicle responding to a call left one person injured Tuesday morning in the Tucson area of Pima County.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at the intersection of Thornydale Road and Cortaro Farms Road on the morning of October 21. A Pima County Sheriff’s deputy was enroute to an emergency call with lights and sirens activated when multiple drivers began yielding as required by law.
However, one driver failed to yield and collided with the department vehicle. That motorist was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The deputy involved was not hurt.
Emergency responders closed off the intersection for a time to assist the injured and clear the wreckage. Authorities are continuing to investigate the events that led to the crash.
