Elk Grove, CA (October 28, 2025) – A 17-year-old driver lost his life in a single-vehicle crash on Elk Grove Boulevard last week, according to local officials.
According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the fatal accident occurred on October 19 along Elk Grove Boulevard, just east of Waterfowl Drive. Authorities say Darin Takeo Hirata was driving alone when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed.
Hirata, a local teen, was the sole occupant of the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
