Dallas, TX (October 29, 2025) — A Dallas County Sheriff’s deputy was seriously injured in a dramatic early morning crash that occurred while responding to a previous incident along Interstate 35.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. on October 25 in the northbound lanes of I-35, just north of the I-635 interchange. The deputy was on foot attending to a prior crash scene when a Ford F-150 lost control on the rain-slicked highway and struck the deputy’s parked squad car.
At the time of the crash, a detained individual was inside the deputy’s vehicle. The deputy, who was positioned between the vehicle and a bridge railing, was thrown over the overpass by the impact and fell to Harry Hines Boulevard below.
He was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The detained person was also hospitalized but later released. The driver of the Ford was not cited, and authorities continue to investigate.
