La Vernia, TX (November 1, 2025) – A devastating three-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning in La Vernia claimed the life of a local woman, now identified as 66-year-old Donna Walpole of La Vernia.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred just before 10:00 a.m. on October 28 along U.S. Highway 87, near Kelsey Parkway and Blackjack Road. Walpole was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Spark in the northbound lane when a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup traveling southeast veered into her path, causing a head-on collision. The Ford also collided with a northbound 2023 Ford F-150.
Walpole was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the 2012 Ford was transported to a hospital in San Antonio for treatment, while the driver of the 2023 Ford was treated at the scene and released.
