La Mesa, CA (September 19, 2025) – Two people were injured and one man was arrested following a DUI-related crash late Wednesday night in La Mesa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 11:19 p.m. on September 18 at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and University Avenue. Authorities said a 33-year-old man from San Diego was behind the wheel of a black Acura sedan when he collided with a silver Chevrolet sedan in the intersection.
The Acura driver was transported to Sharp Grossmont Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later placed under arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. The Chevrolet driver sustained minor injuries but declined further medical treatment at the scene.
Both drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles. The La Mesa Police Department is continuing its investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
