Amarillo, TX (October 20, 2025) – A Saturday night crash involving an off-duty police officer left one woman injured and resulted in a DWI arrest, according to the Amarillo Police Department.
According to law enforcement reports, the incident occurred around 8:10 p.m. on October 18 near the intersection of Austin Street and Wolflin Avenue. A red truck, driven by 33-year-old Tre Galvan, collided with a white Ford sedan driven by a woman.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities identified Galvan as an off-duty officer with the Amarillo Police Department. He was arrested at the scene and charged with a Class B DWI offense.
Following his arrest, Officer Galvan was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The crash remains under active review by police.
