Teaneck, NJ (December 10, 2025) – A serious crash involving an electric bicycle left a 22-year-old Fort Lee man in critical condition Monday night, December 8, in Teaneck. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Degraw Avenue near Frank W. Burr Boulevard.
According to the New Jersey State Police, the e-bike rider was traveling eastbound along the center median of Degraw Avenue when he suddenly attempted to cross the eastbound lanes. He was struck in the center lane by a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman from Teaneck. Officers arriving on scene found the victim unconscious but breathing and began life-saving measures immediately.
Emergency responders from the Teaneck Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Teaneck Fire Department, and Holy Name Medical Center provided aid before transporting the man to Hackensack University Medical Center. The driver remained at the scene, fully cooperating with authorities.
Eastbound Degraw Avenue was temporarily closed for investigation and scene documentation by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.
