According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on November 29 in the 200 block of East San Ysidro Boulevard. A 71-year-old driver in a 2011 Jeep Liberty was exiting the freeway when he struck an 83-year-old man who was crossing mid-block.
