Farmington, ME (July 17, 2025) – Two men suffered severe burn injuries following a suspected propane explosion Saturday morning at a mobile home in Farmington, according to the Maine Department of Public Safety.
According to reports, emergency crews were dispatched to 153 Moore Avenue at approximately 10:21 a.m. on July 13. When they arrived, responders found 68-year-old Mike Warren and 62-year-old Jon Bubier, both residents of Farmington, suffering from serious burns. Authorities say the men were inside the home, reportedly owned by Bubier, and had been cleaning the property at the time of the incident.
The blast caused significant damage to the structure, which is located in a mobile home park. Both victims were initially transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland for advanced treatment due to the severity of their injuries.
Investigators from the state fire marshal’s office believe the explosion may have involved propane, but the exact cause remains under investigation. The Farmington Fire Department, Farmington Police Department, and Maine State Police are assisting in the case.
