Elgin, TX (September 11, 2025) – A devastating multi-vehicle collision late Saturday night in Elgin left two people dead and four others injured after two of the vehicles became engulfed in flames.
According to the Elgin Police Department, the fatal crash occurred around 11:55 p.m. on August 30 at the intersection of US Highway 290 North and Saratoga Farms Boulevard. Investigators confirmed three vehicles were involved in the collision.
Robbie Carter, 66, of McDade, Texas, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Thirteen-year-old Yareli Padierna of Elgin was rushed to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Five others were transported to area hospitals in Austin by ground and air ambulances. The condition of the surviving victims has not yet been released.
