Sacramento, CA (September 20, 2025) – A young man lost his life Saturday morning when a disabled pickup truck was struck by a semi-truck along a busy stretch of Interstate 5 in Sacramento.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Victor Manuel Castaneda was identified as the driver killed in the crash. The collision happened around 7 a.m. on September 14 in the northbound lanes of I-5 just north of Sutterville Road.
