Lake Tahoe, CA (June 23, 2025) – A tragic boating accident on Lake Tahoe Saturday evening left six people dead, two hospitalized, and two more still missing as of Sunday morning, following the capsizing of a boat in treacherous waters near D.L. Bliss State Park.
According to reports, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls just before 5 p.m. on June 21, reporting a capsized boat carrying 10 individuals. Harsh weather conditions, including 6 to 8-foot swells and 30-knot winds, were reported on the lake at the time.
Emergency crews from local agencies, the U.S. Coast Guard, and California State Parks responded to the scene. Six adults were recovered deceased, two people were rescued and hospitalized, and two others remain unaccounted for.
