Monroe, LA (July 11, 2025) — An early morning crash along Interstate 20 in Madison Parish claimed the lives of two Monroe residents on Wednesday.
According to reports, Louisiana State Police responded to the scene just before 4 a.m. on July 9. Authorities say 69-year-old Keith Robinson of Monroe was driving eastbound on Interstate 20 behind another vehicle when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle struck the rear of the car in front at a high rate of speed. Following the initial impact, Robinson’s vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree.
Troopers confirmed that neither Robinson nor his passenger, 39-year-old Rachelle Jefferson of Monroe, were wearing seatbelts. Both sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the other vehicle, who were wearing seatbelts, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to an area hospital for further treatment. Routine toxicology samples were collected to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Taking timely action not only provides financial relief for funeral expenses and loss of income but can also raise awareness about road safety issues. If you or someone you know has lost a family member in an accident, reach out to a local attorney to understand your legal options during this challenging time.
