Orange County, CA (July 17, 2025) – A high-speed police pursuit involving suspected vehicle burglars ended in a deadly rollover crash on Wednesday morning, leaving three people dead and two others seriously injured.
According to reports, the incident began around 2:45 a.m. on July 16, when Anaheim Police responded to a burglary call near Euclid Street and La Palma Avenue. Officers arriving at the scene spotted a black sedan fleeing the area at high speed. When police attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver failed to stop, initiating a pursuit at approximately 2:50 a.m.
The chase ended moments later, just before 3:00 a.m., when the vehicle crashed and rolled over on the northbound 5 Freeway near Brookhurst Street. Investigators say the car contained five individuals believed to be involved in the burglary. During the pursuit, officers observed multiple items being thrown from the vehicle onto the freeway.
Three occupants died at the scene. The two surviving passengers were transported to nearby hospitals; one was listed in serious condition and the other in stable condition. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the collision and its circumstances.
