According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened on October 15 at approximately 1:47 p.m. in the 26000 block of Baseline Street. A black Infiniti sedan and a brown Mazda collided in a violent impact that caused extensive front-end damage to both vehicles.
The victims, identified by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department as 22-year-old Emily Burgara and 24-year-old Robby Chavez, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were residents of San Bernardino. Officials confirmed they were the driver and passenger inside the black sedan.
The driver of the Mazda was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries. The cause of the collision is still under investigation by local authorities.
