Bakersfield, CA (August 12, 2025) – One person was killed and two others injured Sunday evening in a single-vehicle crash that sparked a brush fire in Bakersfield. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. on August 10 near the 11000 block of Highway 178.
According to reports, a car left the roadway and crashed, igniting a fire in nearby brush. Firefighters responded to the scene and pronounced one person dead. Two other occupants, who were ejected from the vehicle, suffered minor to moderate injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Crews quickly extinguished the brush fire.
