Bakersfield, CA (August 12, 2025) – Authorities have identified 16-year-old Juana Jasmine Orozco Guerrero of Bakersfield as the victim of a deadly crash Sunday evening. The collision occurred just after 6 p.m. on August 10 at the intersection of Union Avenue and Panorama Drive.
According to reports, a Jeep traveling west on Panorama Drive entered the northbound lane of Union Avenue and struck a Hyundai that was heading northbound. Guerrero, a passenger in the Hyundai, suffered severe injuries. Despite lifesaving efforts by emergency crews, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other Hyundai passengers and the Jeep’s driver were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. Bakersfield police said speed and intoxication are believed to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
