Devore, CA (July 8, 2025) — A devastating collision on the 15 Freeway claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl from Apple Valley on Sunday evening.
According to reports, the fatal accident happened around 6:50 p.m. on July 6 in the northbound lanes of the 15 Freeway, just south of Glen Helen Parkway. The California Highway Patrol stated that the young girl was riding as a front passenger in a Ford Expedition traveling northbound in the No. 2 lane with five other occupants. For reasons still under investigation, the SUV veered sharply left, lost control, and slammed into the concrete center median. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest upright in the southbound lanes.
Two other vehicles — a Tesla Model 3 and a Maserati Grecale — were also involved in the wreck. The young girl tragically died at the scene, while the other five passengers from the Ford Expedition were transported to a local hospital with injuries described as minor. No injuries were reported from the Tesla or Maserati. CHP officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
