Harrison County, OH (June 28, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision involving two SUVs and a semi-truck hauling a massive crane left one person dead and three others injured Friday afternoon along State Route 151 near Bowerston.
According to reports, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at about 3:30 p.m. on June 27. Bowerston Assistant Fire Chief Derick Warner confirmed that two fully loaded SUVs collided with a semi-truck transporting a 100-ton crane. The impact sparked a fire that quickly engulfed both the semi-truck and the crane.
When first responders arrived, they found the semi-truck and crane fully involved in flames. Tragically, one person died at the scene, while three other victims were transported to area hospitals for further treatment of their injuries. The extent of their conditions has not yet been disclosed.
Due to the severity of the crash and fire, the Ohio Department of Transportation (O-DOT) announced that State Route 151 would remain closed from U.S. Route 250 to State Route 212 overnight while crews work to clear debris and perform critical pavement inspections. Drivers are urged to follow the official O-DOT detours until the roadway reopens safely.
