Long Beach, CA (June 20, 2025) — A truck driver was tragically killed Wednesday morning after being struck and run over by his own semi-truck following a rear-end collision on Pier T Avenue.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. on June 18 in the 2600 block of Pier T Avenue. The victim had pulled over and exited his truck, standing near the engine compartment when another semi-truck struck his parked vehicle from behind. The impact caused the victim’s truck to lurch forward, knocking him to the ground and running him over.
Emergency responders arrived quickly and performed life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second semi-truck stayed on site and is cooperating fully with investigators.
