Visalia, CA (August 12, 2025) – A man was killed late Friday night in a collision with a tanker truck in Tulare County. The crash occurred at approximately 11:21 p.m. on August 8 along Highway 63 near Avenue 352, according to the California Highway Patrol.
According to reports, a 49-year-old man driving a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the rear of a 2023 Kenworth semi-truck pulling a gasoline tank trailer. The big rig was slowing to turn onto Avenue 352 at the time of impact.
The Chevrolet driver was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. CHP stated that drugs may have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
