Waukesha, WI (December 9, 2025) – A woman was killed Monday morning following a crash involving a snowplow on westbound Interstate 94 in Waukesha.
According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on December 8 near Springdale Road. Authorities say 48-year-old Sara Marie Sobieralski rear-ended a Waukesha County snowplow operating in the emergency lane of the interstate. Witnesses described traffic coming to a standstill just before the crash and reported seeing people exit their vehicles to assist when Sobieralski’s SUV began smoking.
The SUV driver was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to her injuries. The snowplow operator was not hurt.
The westbound lanes of I-94 were shut down for several hours as investigators worked the scene and crews cleared the wreckage. The freeway was fully reopened by 1:30 p.m.
