Clatsop County, OR (September 15, 2026) – Markham Marshall Stangland, 65, of Warrenton, died and at least 16 people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on September 12 in Clatsop County. The accident occurred at approximately 8:56 a.m. on Highway 30 near milepost 85 and involved multiple pickup trucks and a van carrying Oregon National Guard members.
According to the Oregon State Police , a Ford Ranger driven by Stangland was traveling west on Highway 30 when it entered the eastbound side and sideswiped a Ram 1500. The Ford then collided with an eastbound van carrying 11 Guard members. Another pickup truck traveling behind the van was unable to stop before becoming involved in the crash.
