According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly accident occurred around 1:25 p.m. on September 24 at the intersection of Road 68 and Avenue 260. Investigators say a woman driving a BMW westbound on Avenue 260 reportedly failed to stop at a posted stop sign and entered the path of a northbound Chevrolet Silverado on Road 68.
The BMW was struck by the truck, causing significant damage. Emergency personnel arrived and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released pending family notification.
