Houston, TX (October 21, 2025) – A 21-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a fiery collision that claimed two lives early Friday morning on the I-10 Katy Freeway in Houston.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened at approximately 1:15 a.m. on October 17, 2025, in the 2100 block of the Katy Freeway near the Taylor Street exit. Authorities said Ariel Perry Stewart was driving a Tesla when she rear-ended a Nissan Sentra. The collision caused the Sentra to spin out, strike a barrier, and burst into flames.

Tragically, both occupants of the Nissan—identified as 22-year-old Bianca Romero and her boyfriend, Christian Rangel—were killed at the scene. A passenger in the Tesla was hospitalized.

Stewart, who showed signs of intoxication, was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. She is currently being held at the Harris County Jail.
