Santa Rosa, CA (December 28, 2025) – A 61-year-old Rohnert Park man was tragically killed Friday morning after being struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe while riding an e-scooter in Santa Rosa.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers with the Santa Rosa Police Department responded to the deadly incident around 8:11 a.m. on December 26 at the intersection of Santa Rosa Avenue and El Portal Drive. When police and Santa Rosa Fire Department personnel arrived, the victim was found deceased at the scene.
Initial reports indicate that the driver of the Chevy Tahoe, a 30-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was turning southbound onto Santa Rosa Avenue from a parking lot when the vehicle collided with the e-scooter rider, who was heading north. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators.
Santa Rosa Avenue was temporarily shut down during the investigation but has since reopened.
